Can't We All Just Get Along

Who knew that yesterday's post about Mel Gibson's DUI arrest would spark such an insane flurry of feedback. Many readers have spoken out on both sides of the issue. While I feel that my post was not inflammatory to anyone's personal beliefs, there are some readers who feel that my comments were an attack on religion and/or Christians as a whole. While I find this utterly ridiculous, I believe that everyone is entitled to their opinions ... Mel has already apologized for his drunken behavior (which tends to confirm the report by TMZ): "I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested," he said in a statement issued by his publicist. "I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse" ... Gibson also apologized Saturday for what he called "my belligerent behavior" when he was taken into custody. "The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person," he said. "I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable." Soooo ... let's just move on with a new post and get back to the light-hearted fare that is way more fun to discuss ...

Check out this cute picture of Jamie Lynn Spears posing with her chubby nephew Sean Preston. The picture seems to be taken at the same house that the last picture was taken (note the same fugly drapes) ... and thankfully there isn't a fudgecicle in sight:

I love the look on Sean Preston's face ... he already looks worn out ... at the ripe old age of 10 months. Somebody get that kid some Jack Daniels already. [Source]

Kevin Federline is on the cover of the Steppin' Out magazine ... if you get past the funny white outfit and read the interview I think you'll find an eloquence in the man that was previously unknown:

When asked if he is concerned with his image (i.e. the way people view him) this is the answer he gave: My image is me. I'm myself. That's the image that people need to see. But it can take ten years. Know what I mean? Who knows? Ahhh ... his words like a sweet melody in my ears. He is truly a master orator ... and this, ladies and gentlemen, is only the beginning of the K-Fed media onslaught. With the release of his debut album at hand, we can be sure that he'll be popping up in the media all over the place. I don't think we have to worry about him scoring a Rolling Stone cover (I really hope that never happens) but you can be sure he'll be on the covers of more magazines. Steppin' Out magazine is available for download HERE. [Source]

Remember ... tonight is your chance to get up-close and personal with The Federline himself ...

... if I were in Vegas this weekend, you better believe I'd be there. If any brave souls trek out to Pure for the video shoot, send me your pics and stories so we can all live vicariously thru you. [Source]

Okay ... no more Spederline for now ... let's get to some hotness ... here are new pictures of David Beckham arriving in Austria to begin training for his soccer team Real Madrid. Who knew that Becks was such a fan of Louis Vuitton:

As if I needed another reason to lurve him. He's got great looks, great style and great taste (well, if you forget that Victoria Beckham thing). Hopefully we'll get to see new pictures of Becks and his fellow teammates doing their training thing in states of undress. Woot! One can only hope. [Source]

Hilary Duff has been spending some time in Canada where she's been doing a few shows, doing some fun shopping (with her mom) and doing some personal appearances. Here are a few pictures of Hil's appearance on Much Music's Much On Demand earlier this week:

Hilary looks great ... but that girl can't go anywhere without having a caffeinated drink in her hands. Anyways ... Hilary tells Much Music that she never told Elle magazine that she is a virgin and was completely shocked when she read that quote in the magazine: MuchNews spoke with Hilary yesterday, and she had this to say about the eyebrow-raising quote: "The thing is that I didn't say that. I wouldn't say that. I don't know how [the writer] got that out of what I said." Duff went on to say that the subject is "definitely not something that I would talk about or that I would want people to focus on. Or that I even think it's appropriate to talk about. Whose business is that?" Hmmm ... well, we know that Britney Spears was fond of talking about her virginity back in the day and then it blew up in her face when her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake revealed that they had been having sex when Brit was talking up her virtue. I don't blame Hilary for staying mum on the subject ... altho, this latest quote will prolly get tongues wagging on whether she is or isn't. [Source]

Poor Nicky Hilton ...

... she prolly really thinks this is why Lance Bass was never interested in her :) [Source]

Brody Jenner has updated his My Space profile with a few new pictures ... including this one of him exhaling a whole lotta smoke. Compare this picture of Brody with this older picture of Stephen Coletti:

It appears that Kristin Cavallari likes to date smokers. I wonder what it is that the lads are smoking? [Source, thanks Danielle]

Yesterday I posted a link to The Smoking Gun which revealed a hilarious letter from Morgan Creek productions to Lindsay Lohan. The letter chastises Linds for failing to report to work (she is currently shooting the movie Georgia Rule) because of her recent claim of "heat exhaustion". Having read the letter I felt it would bad of me to not post it here with a few bits of text highlighted:

I love it! I cannot believe they would call her out like this ... who knows how this letter got leaked to The Smoking Gun but holy crap it's funny. I suppose it remains to be seen if this will snap Lindsay back into shape permanently. She has already recovered from her ailment and has gotten her tush back to work. We'll see if she can stay a good little girl for the remainder of the shoot. [Source]

Here is the cover artwork for Janet Jackson's new album 20 Years Old:

I gotta admit ... she really looks great in this picture. I'm sure this beauty is more a testament to the powers of Photoshop but I greatly approve of the final product. I haven't been excited about new Janet Jackson music for quite some time but I am intrigued by this latest album. Click HERE to see her new video Call Me featuring Nelly. [Source]

And finally, all you cool kids in NYC need to get your booties down to MisShapes tonight to wish the beautiful LoveLeigh a very happy birthday:

Bloc Party will be on hand to wish her a very happy b-day ... and so should you. Happy Birthday, Leigh! XOXO [Source]

The News:
Last night, Jim and I met up with new friends Brian, Richard and Ryan for an amazing dinner at Koi. The food was absolutely delicious ... and believe me, we ate a lot of it. After dinner, we met up the boys at Fiesta Cantina for a few drinks -- and we ran into Superman Returns director Bryan Singer. He showed up with a few friends but wasn't being mobbed by anyone at all ... I got the impression that he goes there often.

After drinks, it was time for dancing so Jim, Davey, Ryan and I made our way to PopStarz:

We had an absolute blast ... I got to meet Pink readers Stephanie & Becca (who was celebrating her birthday last night), John & David and a few others. I also ran into friends Corey and Duckie who were also there dancing the night away. We had so much fun ... and that is why I'm dealing with such a terrible headache today. Thankfully, I wasn't the Designated Driver ... if it's one thing I've learned from the Mel Gibson fiasco ... WHOOPS! I am not gonna go there again ;)

I hope y'all are having a great weekend ... I'm out.
