Blah! Where the hell did the summer go? It's already the last day of July ... um, doesn't it feel like we just started the summer and now we're entering into the final month :( It didn't really hit me until I noted the day's date ... for me, the end of July always signals the beginning of the end of the summer.

Ah well, it's a whole new week ... let's get to it ...

Jamie Lynn Spears made an appearance at the Hollywood premiere of the animated movie Barnyard yesterday afternoon ... here are a few pictures of Miss JL lookin' pretty in pink on the red carpet:




You know what isn't quite so pretty is that wound on her lower lip ... I really hope it's not what I fear it is. Obviously, Jamie Lynn wasn't invited out to Vegas to party with Spederline at K-Fed's video shoot and was relegated to partaking in more innocent fare back home ... and that's just fine by me. There has been a lot of drama in the comments section of this blog over the weekend regarding the DUI arrest of Mel Gibson on Friday. Charges have been thrown around of hatred, hypocrisy, anti-this and that and I think it's time all of those harsh, negative feelings be refocused against a true evil. We shouldn't be fighting one another, we should be aligning ourselves against a common enemy ... the true enemy ... the real threat against our very existence as we know it ...


We must unite as one to bring about the end of this short pants phenomenon. Clam Diggers, Peddle Pushers, Capris, Manpris ... they must be eradicated. Think about the children! Together ... we can do it. [Source]

Yesterday was my first quiet day alone here in LA. Life is getting settled ... I'm becoming more used to my surroundings. I am loving my apartment ... I'm still a ways from being completely done with it but it will be a work in progress for a while. I gotta admit, it's starting to feel more like home.

And speaking of home, I will be flying back to Detroit at the end of this week for Zakiya's first birthday party on Saturday. I am very excited to see my friends again ... I realize I haven't been gone that long but it'll be great to see them all again. More on that trip later on in the week.

Blah ... it's Monday ... and no one likes Mondays ... I hope you have an OK one. I'm out.

UPDATE: Star Magazine is reporting that Mel Gibson has checked himself into a rehab program of some sort and the LA County Sheriff's Department has released his mugshot:


Mel Gibson has checked himself into a recovery program for alcohol, the troubled actor's rep Alan Nierob, exclusively tells Star. "He is in a program of recovery at this time," Nierob says. Plus, Chris Prentiss, a neighbor of Gibson's and the co-founder of celebrity treatment centre Passages in Malibu, Calif., tells Star: "I understand he has gone into recovery program. The center that I've heard he's checked himself into follows the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program. And I don't believe that will help him." Prentiss — who refused to name the rehab center he's heard Gibson is in — adds: "I think he needs individual intense therapy by a team of people who know what they are looking for in causes in alcoholism. There are only four causes and it is one or more of those four causes that are causing him to be out of control. CNN is confirming this report, you can read the CNN story HERE.
