Clean Cut

Johnny Depp got himself a shave AND a haircut for his new movie Public Enemies which he began shooting earlier this week in Wisconsin (of all places). I can't remember the last time I saw Johnny look this hairless ... but the new look does shave about 5 years off him, I think. Here are a few pics of Johnny in full costume as original o.g. John Dillinger on the set of Public Enemies earlier this week:

I am not a fan of period pieces (especially ones that have a western feel to them) but the cast of Public Enemies is pretty remarkable ... Christian Bale, Channing Tatum, and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard all co-star with Johnny in this movie where, according to IMDB, "The Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s." Despite the periodness of the film, there is a lot of hotness in this cast. I might have to check it out when it opens next year. [Source]

The TV Guide: Eatin', Drinkin', Brawlin'

Last night was a very fun night here in NYC ... David managed to wrangle together a nice group of folks for dinner. The venue was Chanto and he managed to cull together Corynne (who I haven't seen in ages), Shane, Eden (his sister) and Monique (who I love more than cookies) for some good eats. I enjoyed a lovely dinner of lobster fried in tempura ... yeah, it was as good as it sounds. Here are a few pics of us at dinner last night and then at the after party at Vlada where we met up with Isaac and Trey for drinking fun:

I got to meet a few Pink readers at Vlada (like Francis [pictured above], Michael, Scott and Dan and others whose names I wasn't able to hear properly) and a good time was had by all ... except for that one little incident where things got a bit rowdy in David's general area ... thankfully, no one had to be hurt.

This afternoon, we hit the road to meet up with David's family for Easter brunch in Connecticut. We're always on the run ... I hope y'all are enjoying your lovely Easter Sunday :)

Hot Dude Of The Week: Zach

It is now time for the Hot Dude of the Week, which semi-sacrilegiously falls on Easter Sunday ... but, if you think about it, isn't really that big of a deal ... after all, hawtness should be celebrated each and every day and I don't think anyone would argue that male beauty is cause for celebration even on the holiest of days. That said, let's take a gander at Zach in all his shirtless wonder:

Yes, I think the dark hair and blue eyes combo makes for nice ganderin' at (let alone the hot bod the boy is rockin', too). There is something about the raised arms that really gives this photo of Zach that extra oomph of hawtness. Enjoy!! [Source]

This Little Piggy Went Home ...

How is this for some adorable Easter fun ... Reese Witherspoon took her children Ava and Deacon out to a small exotic animal farm/shop this weekend so that they could each pick out a little piglet to take home with them. It would seem that bunnies are soooo over this year and pigs are the new thing ... take a look:

This makes sense to me ... after all, when kids get tired of their bunnies, what are you going to do with them? Set them free? Give them away? At least with pigs there are, er, other options on how to dispose of the unwanted pets when the appeal has worn off. MMMMM, bacon. [Source]

Dishing The Gossip

All the young stars of the breakout hit CW teen drama Gossip Girl where on hand at the Arc Light Cinema Dome this weekend to partake in a panel discussion hosted by the Paley Center. I understand my homeboy at Entertainment Weekly, Tim Stack, was the moderator for the Gossip Girl panel discussion last night so I'm sure it was a great event. Here are a few pics of the show's stars preening for the cameras before the event took place:

The GG panel discussion offered a few bits of new information about the show ... Blake Lively confessed that Serena's sleeping with Nate wasn't the real reason she left town and that more of her bad girl side will be revealed when the show returns. I understand that new character Georgina Sparks (to be played by Michelle Trachtenberg) will reveal the real reason Serena left and will spill many of Serena's deep, dark secrets when she blows into town next month. The "gay question" was raised by moderator Tim Stack but the question is avoided ... apparently, one of the male characters on the show will come out of the closet in the first new ep that airs next month. My money says it won't be any of the 3 male leads ... which means the only feasible males left are Rufus Humphrey (highly unlikely) and Serena's brother Eric van der Woodsen (ding! ding! ding!). This GG panel discussion sounds like it was fun (not as fun as the Buffy one, mind you) and there was a lot more discussed. TVaddict.com was in the hiz last night (virtually, it seems, the Gossip Girl panel discussion was streamed online -- a PaleyFest first) and they liveblogged the entire event for your reading pleasure HERE. London Calling

David Beckham has packed up his duds and has bid adieu to the sunny climes of his new home of Southern California and has departed for his old home of England. Here are pics of hot Becks making his way thru LAX Airport yesterday on his way back to England where he has been recalled by the English national soccer team to participate in a friendly match against their lifelong rivals -- the French national team:

Becks's shaved head and extra tattoos give him more of a hard-edged look, don't you think? He looks like he could rough somebody up should they ever get on his bad side ... which is kinda hot but not entirely the point. Anyways, Becks is making his way back home to England HOPEFULLY so that he can score his 100th cap in the game vs. the French, which is a feat that has alluded him for some time now (due to injury or circumstance). I have a great feeling that he will be able to get the job done and return home victorious ... just in time for the kickoff of the 2008 MLS Season with the LA Galaxy. Good luck, Becks! Do your thing then come home quickly!! [Source]

Better Than Nothing?

Philanthropist socialite Paris Hilton is spending part of her Easter weekend far from home this year as she has made her way to South Africa to join Good Charlotte while they are on tour there right now. Not content to just tag along as a band groupie, Paris spent some of her time in South Africa with some of the school children at Jakaranda Kinderhuis School in Pretoria where she posed for pics with the kids and bestowed upon them "autographs, xeroxed pictures and hugs" ... here are a couple pics of Paris doing her charity work:

While some celebs make the trek to South Africa to offer assistance with medical aid, food aid or humanitarian aid, Paris offers stacks of photocopied photographs of herself with her name scribbled on them ... to children who prolly cannot read yet. I suppose she should get some credit for making the effort ... I wouldn't be surprised if she really believed she was helping brighten up these kids' lives. Bless her little heart. [Source]

Happy Easter, Y'all!

Is it just me or did Easter come really early this year? It seems like in the past few years Easter came at a more appropriate (ie. warmer) time of the year and this year it really snuck up on me. I don't think I realized that it was Easter weekend until just last week. But, here it is ... the holiday that is celebrated with baskets and egg hunts ... and PEEPS candy:

For the past 2 years, Easter and Passover have been in the same weekend so I was able to spend the weekend with David's family in Connecticut where we celebrated the Seder dinner on Friday or Saturday and then Easter on Sunday (the family celebrates both, obvs). But since this year the holidays are separated by nearly a month, I'm only going to get to celebrate Easter with the Hauslaibs since I'll be in Detroit on Passover weekend ... for the SASS danceparty (forgive me Elijah). Today, we're driving up to Connecticut to meet up with the fam for some Easter fun so I'll post a few entries and then I have to be on my way. I hope all y'all have an amazing day today, however you choose to celebrate it ... eat some PEEPS for me!!!!
