Too Bad Chuck?

OMFG is out and TBC is in ... here is the poster artwork to promote the season finale of Gossip Girl, which will air on The CW on May 19:

See, you don't need all those words to adequately promote today's teen dramas ... in fact, you don't even need words at all. Brills! [Source]

Becks Vs. Bulls

Earlier this year, Sharpie announced a partnership with David Beckham to promote their permanent markers and today we get a pic of Becks on the set of his new commercial for the marker manufacturer:

I love it ... Becks + that little girl = cute overload. I can't wait to see what the final product will look like. [Source]

Additionally, would like to remind you that Becks and the LA Galaxy will take on the New York Red Bulls at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA this weekend in competitive play:

But you can watch the game on MSG this weekend. Go Galaxy!!! [Source]

The TV Guide: Let's Try This "Goodbye" Thing One More Time

Well, I'm still in NYC. Due to the Rev. Al Sharpton's last-minute call for a citywide protest that would essentially "shut down New York", all the bridges and tunnels off Manhattan Island were blocked off and I was unable to get off the island in time to make my plane. While I was majorly annoyed at spending HOURS in traffic yesterday only to have to turn right back around and return home to David's place, I fully support the Rev's protest over the acquittal of three police officers involved in the 50-bullet shooting of an unarmed black man. Sharpton was arrested and I was stranded in NYC for one more night ... in the end, I have no cause for complaint.

I was so worn out from dealing with all the hoopla yesterday that I was in no mood to do anything ... poor David wasn't feeling well at all and we ended up just staying in.

BUT TODAY, I hope, I'm headed back to LA. I'm still planning on making the midnight screening of Speed Racer at the IMAX with Darion tonight ... it's gonna be a long afternoon/evening/night.

Wish me luck, I should deffo be back in LA by nightfall ... I hope.

Heidi Klum Does Marie Claire Magazine

Supermodel and supermom Heidi Klum is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine ... here is her coverphoto, a few behind-the-scenes pics from her photoshoot and excepts of her coverstory:

Hate to sound so seen-it-all, but let's face it -- supermodels can disappoint in the flesh. Mostly because there's so little of it on them. The scorchingly thin figure that makes clothes look elegant can seriously underwhelm without the curvature the camera adds. So as I wait for Heidi Klum in the Polo Lounge of the Beverly Hills Hotel, I'm braced for a letdown. It never comes. Even across the dining room, Klum is mesmerizingly lovely: tight jeans tucked into boots; a black leather jacket over a striped cashmere top that makes her look like the world’s sexiest gondolier; blonde hair that spills out of a knit beret. All that's missing is that leonine spark familiar from photos and TV appearances. This Heidi looks almost ... cuddly ... "I always wanted to be a mom," Klum says in her lightly accented English. "At Thanksgiving, I have my parents there, I have screaming kids, I have a big fat turkey -- 18 pounds -- sitting in the middle; legs are being ripped off that thing, you know what I mean? There's life in the house. I don't want to be wondering about how skinny I am, wondering what I'm going to eat because I don't want to gain and I want to look hot and young, always and forever." Of course, at 34, Klum looks absurdly hot and young. How, I wonder aloud, is that possible after three kids in four years? "I always think, Look at how people were before they were pregnant," Klum says. "If you were a toned, healthy, energetic person, most likely you will be like that again." Cold comfort to the untoned and unhealthy, but the straight dope is sort of refreshing. "A lot of people come to me, and they're like, 'Will I look like you after I have the baby?' And I say, 'Well, how were you before?' You can't kid yourself." ... Klum was never going to be anyone's idea of a crushed, crumbled person. To find success in the waif era, she knew she had to be resourceful. "There were still other things out there for people who were normal-looking," which meant modeling for catalogs -- JCPenney, Spiegel, and Newport News. Then in 1996, Klum got the call to do catalog work for Victoria's Secret. It didn't hurt that Klum's European upbringing left her completely at ease with stripping down for the camera. "I come from a place where we're not that shy about our bodies," she notes. Then in 1998, Klum's distinctive d├ęcolletage made a memorable star turn on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

And the rest, as they say, is history. The Marie Claire coverstory goes on to talk about her work on Project Runway, her attraction and subsequent marriage to Seal, her kids, yada yada yada. It's a nice read for Klum fans, the photos are pretty nice, too. I'm more interested in hearing what Heidi has to say about all the changes going on with Project Runway ... I wonder what her take is on the show's move to Lifetime and the rumor that production will move to LA. Now that's the interview I want to read :) [Source, Source]

High Art At A Jacked Up Price

Are any of y'all, perchance, in the market for a 6-foot tall sculpture of a nekkid anime boy who is holding his manhood in one hand and is gesturing mightily with the other as a stream of manjuice is lassoing around his head? If so, you are in luck! The Murakami sculpture My Lonesome Cowboy (1998) which has been described as a "figurative life-size cartoon sculpture that celebrates sexual-spirituality" but is really just a nekkid manga boy masturbating a stream of ejaculate into the air is about to go on the auction block at Sotheby's this spring:

The sculpture is expected to go for around $4 million dollars so you're gonna hafta really want this art piece for your living room in order to win the auction. [Source]

If you're unsure about whether or not the piece is right for you, you can watch the video below of Murakami explaining the concept of this "shocking" piece:

Or you can just wait until some of his more accessible art goes on the auction block:

Having just seen My Lonesome Cowboy in person myself this past weekend on display at the Brooklyn Museum, I can attest that it is a formidable piece of art. I'm not sure I'd really feel all that comfortable with a statue taller than me showing me up ... er, in that department (if you catch my drift) but I have no doubt that the piece will fetch a nice price when it goes on the auction block at Sotheby's.

Ugly Betty, Purdy Beefcake

Much ado has been made about the upcoming guest appearances by Naomi Campbell and Lindsay Lohan on the season finale of Ugly Betty but I am VERY excited that uberhottie Eddie Cibrian (the hawt guy whose name no one seems able to pronounce) will be guesting on the show as Betty's nephew Justin's shirtless gym teacher; who sparks up a romantic relationship with Betty's sister/Justin's mother Hilda ... being familiar with how Eddie looks when he's sans shirt, I can totes see why she'd wanna jump all over that hotness. Here are a few photos of Eddie's guest stint:

Inside the Suarez home on the Ugly Betty set, things look about the same as before the writers' strike. Justin (Mark Indelicato) is dressed up as Grease's Danny Zuko and complaining about having to go to the school dance. Dad Ignacio (Tony Plana) and daughter Hilda (Ana Ortiz) are in foul moods, thanks to colds. And Betty's (America Ferrera) her usual chipper self, as is Ferrera, who earlier in the day, with Indelicato, burst into a chorus of Flo Rida and T-Pain's Low. "We got really into it," says Indelicato. But not everything's as it was as Ugly Betty returns to ABC's lineup tonight (8 ET/PT). Hilda's at-home hair salon is transformed, with a leopard styling chair, a plastic-covered sofa and walls painted blinding shades of turquoise and mint. "We like colors here," Ortiz says. Actress Ava Gaudet returns as Hilda's nemesis, Gina Gambarro, newly married to a wealthy chiropractor. And former Third Watch star Eddie Cibrian joins the cast as Justin's Coach Diaz. Sparks fly when Hilda visits gym class. "He's such a foxy guy," Ortiz says of Cibrian. "He's Latino, Cuban. We keep the Latino radar out for each other."

OMG OMG OMG ... Eddie Cibrian as a gym teacher -- a shirtless gym teacher -- sounds like it might be a recurring part. OMG OMG OMG ... I sincerely hope so. Le sigh :) [Source]

The Wedding Planner

While the world was stunned by the news of Mariah Carey's surprise secret wedding to boyfriend of 6 weeks, Nick Cannon (a gent 10 years her junior), Oprah Winfrey revealed on her show yesterday that she was not at all surprised by the nuptials. Oprah and her BFF Gayle King revealed on her show that Mariah had gotten the words "Mrs. Cannon" tattooed on her back before secrets plans for the wedding were put into place and Gayle revealed that Mariah confided in her that she was dating Nick. Additionally, Life and Style magazine has a bunch of deets about the wedding preparations and how Mimi was personally involved at almost every step:

Mariah Carey knew all along that she was going to wed Nick Cannon, says pal Oprah Winfrey. Before she tied the knot, Winfrey said that Carey had the words "Mrs. Cannon" tattooed on her back. Winfrey dished about the shocking wedding on her talk show Wednesday. Her pal Gayle King also appeared, via satellite, and recalled an interview she had with Carey a week before the April 30 ceremony. King said that Carey told her, "I do have somebody, but I can't tell you who it is." When pressed, Carey finally admitted, "It is Nick Cannon. It's a secret. Don't tell anybody." King said she thought even Carey herself didn't even know she'd be getting married so fast. Not so, says Winfrey. Before wedding, Carey visited Winfrey and "she already had, on her body, the tattoo on her back that said 'Mrs. Cannon,'" Winfrey said. "They were already planning on doing it." King, who has spoken to Carey, then added, "Mariah told me herself that she has never felt this way about anybody before in her whole life. They have something special between the two of them that both of them feel. King said she is "concerned they got married so quickly. I do think when you meet somebody you've only known a month ... that's a little scary." Still, King added, "I'm happy for her."

According to Life & Style, Mariah wanted to ensure complete secrecy and took great pains to make sure her staff took care of every wedding detail to her exact specifications ... choosing to oversee delivery of her wedding cake personally:

Private jets from NYC arrive at Governors Harbour Airport in the Bahamas all the time. But two that landed on the afternoon of April 29 were carrying some extra-special cargo. Pop diva Mariah Carey, 38, and actor Nick Cannon, 27, rode on one -- and about 24 wedding guests were passengers on the other! While Nick took care of the bling, Mariah steered the top-secret wedding plans. "Mariah's assistant arrived on Eleuthera Island, just off the coast of Windermere, on April 27 to start making arrangements," says the airport waitress. "The next day, a commercial jet arrived from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., carrying two huge tanks of live Maine lobsters." Her security team and staff also flew in to get the home ready for their notoriously high-maintenance boss. Among their duties: laying out silk robes, designer sheets and towels, blackout curtains for her bedroom and vases filled with orchids. (When she stays at hotels, bright lightbulbs are usually replaced with softer, more flattering ones, per her orders, says the Mariah insider.) "Whenever Mariah travels, they set up for her beforehand," the Mariah insider explains. "And it's no joke -- if anything she needs or wants is missing, she'll be upset." The morning of Mariah's big day, florist Benjamin White was spotted greeting a private jet filled with flowers. "Hurry up," he told handlers anxiously. "I don't have much time to play with." Mariah herself oversaw the delivery of her wedding cake -- flying it down with her on the private jet. "It was on the seat next to her," a source confirms. "She wouldn't let anyone come near it or touch it." But all the meticulous planning paid off. "She was one happy, happy lady on her wedding day," says a witness at the ceremony.

You may recall that Pink reader Nicole, whose father knows the pilots of the private jets that carried Mariah, her wedding cake and her guests to Eleuthera told us last week about Mariah personally delivering the cake herself. Still, despite all the "planning" that these reports reveal, I am still pretty shocked that Mariah would fall so desperately in love with Nick Cannon in just 6 weeks that they decided to get married so quickly. It's so crazy! The happily married couple has yet to surface in "the real world" but I'm sure everyone will be going apeshizz once they do. I hope they are enjoying their honeymoon right about now cuz they ain't gonna get any peace and quiet for some time after they reemerge. [Source]

Can't Hold Amy Down

Amy Winehouse is, once again, free on bail after being arrested in the UK yesterday on charges stemming from a video that was circulated by The Sun that appeared to show Amy smoking crack and bragging about the other drugs she was fond of doing. Amy posted bond and was released from police custody around 10:30PM local time and, as you might imagine, immediately proceeded to roam the streets of London, England until the wee hours of the morning ... natch:

Amy Winehouse walked out of an East London police station around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night, after being held for eight hours. "She has been bailed to return on a date in May," a Scotland Yard spokesman tells PEOPLE. He declined to specify exactly when that date would be "pending further police enquiries." Winehouse had gone to see law officers voluntarily at around 1 a.m. The troubled singer, 24, sat down with detectives after police obtained a video which allegedly showed her taking narcotics. In January, Britain's Sun newspaper ran photos of Winehouse smoking what the tabloid claimed to be a crack pipe. (She entered rehab soon afterward.)

So what does one do after they have been arrested, interviewed and then released on bond on drug charges? Why, you run around town until 4AM, that's what:

If Amy Winehouse was at all concerned about her second arrest in as many weeks, it certainly didn't show as she roamed the streets 4am this morning. The troubled singer left her Camden home in the early hours to dash to a petrol station where she collected supplies including magazines and drinks, chatting happily to photographers during her outing. With her trademark beehive wrapped up in a red bandanna with her husband's name emblazoned on it, the ever-erratic singer asked the paparazzi for suggestions for a new tattoo. It was just hours after she visited a London police station by appointment yesterday afternoon before being arrested possession of Class A drugs and later released on bail.

A rep for Winehouse released this statement concerning this latest arrest and release:

"Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is cooperating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year."

And just for completist's sake, here is a list of Amy Winehouse's arrest/release record ... mind you, it only covers a 7-month period:

October 18, 2007

Arrested with husband Blake Fielder-Civil in Norway after being caught in possession of cannabis. The pair are fined £350.

December 18, 2007

Arrested again in connection with investigation into Mr Fielder-Civil's charges of perverting the course of justice. He attacked a pub landlord and then attempted to bribe him to drop the assault allegation. Miss Winehouse is released the same day on bail.

January 22, 2007

A video of Miss Winehouse allegedly smoking a crack pipe is posted on The Sun's website. Footage shows the Back To Black singer claiming she has taken "six valium" before lighting up and inhaling from the pipe

February 2008

Miss Winehouse is interviewed under caution by police in connection with the video. She is not arrested but police confirm their inquiries are continuing.

April 25, 2008

Miss Winehouse is arrested on suspicion of assault. She went to a central London police station voluntarily to be questioned over an alleged assault. She was accused of attacking two men in the early hours of the morning after a night out in Camden.

April 26, 2008

Miss Winehouse is released from police custody after being cautioned for common assault.

May 7, 2008

The star is arrested in relation to the video allegedly showing her smoking crack.

Geeze, she's starting to make UK rocker Pete Doherty look like a good boy. I suspect this won't be Amy's last run-in with the police this year. The question becomes, how far is she going to take her reckless behavior before she ends up suffering serious consequences? I'm afraid to find out, actually. [Source, Source]

Nicole Richie (And Fam) Do Harper's Bazaar Magazine

Nicole Richie is featured on the cover of the new issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine and she and her family (papa Lionel Richie, babydaddy Joel Madden and her beautiful 4-month old daughter Harlow Winter) are featured in a cute domestic-themed photospread that accompanies her coverstory. Here are a few pics from Nicole's photospread:

And here is a short, behind-the-scenes, video of her covershoot:

And a portion of her coverstory:

On the rear deck of Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden's house in Glendale, a Los Angeles suburb so un-Hollywood that it's almost Cleaver-esque, hangs a huge webbed curtain that brings to mind army training maneuvers. Nicole and Joel hung the netting when Nicole was nine months pregnant, to foil the helicopters constantly flying overhead. How Sean Penn and Madonna. "Didn't [Penn] write in rocks, like, 'Fuck you' or something?" asks Nicole admiringly, showcasing her handiwork, which, as new daughter Harlow turns two months old, is only now being taken down ... Nicole retreats to the deck, munching on watermelon from a Tupperware container. What surprises her most about motherhood? "Hmm, I would say how fun it is," she says, surely sending other new mothers into spasms of resentment. "Everybody talks about how difficult it is in the first three months, but I absolutely love it." Close friend Mary-Kate Olsen says, "Nicole is one of the most loving and nurturing mothers I have yet to come across." But father Lionel Richie knows best: "Motherhood has given her all the keys to understanding how her mother and I were trying to raise her," he says. "Now it has come full circle." ... Nicole emphasizes that her beau is "very conservative." Secret Hollywood Republican conservative? "Oh, no, not that," she says with her tinkly laugh. She considers Joel's family a model for her own. "I want five children," she says deliberately, "twin boys and three girls. I've wanted that since I was a little girl." Nicole describes Joel, the family's chief diaper changer, as having "a different way of thinking. But at the same time, he's never tried to change me. And if anything, we were friends first. We just have fun together. When we're apart," which occurs often, she notes, when your bloke's in a band, "we just get on iChat and don't even say anything to each other." She starts to giggle. "He likes to get girly sometimes. But he'd kill me if he knew I said that!" Joel met the parents - Lionel and his first wife, Brenda - almost immediately. "I brought him over to my dad's house," Nicole explains. "They're both musicians, they're both from the South, and they're both very conservative, so they got along right away." What about a Lionel-Joel duet then? "Sure, why not? My dad really respects Joel as an artist, and they're both really great songwriters, so you never know." ... Joel had remarked at the previous day's shoot for Bazaar (at Lionel's Beverly Hills home) that he was wary of bringing up a child in Los Angeles because he felt it was harder for her to not become jaded. He's fantasized about buying an escape hatch in Thailand (where the couple have traveled often) or Sydney - somewhere, in short, where one doesn't have to hang paparazzi-deflecting nets in the backyard. "I personally love Los Angeles," Nicole counters. "You can say anything you want about L.A., but kids get into things." The young family will be spending more time in New York, though, since they bought an apartment downtown. "I know that I grew up on the faster side," Nicole notes, "but I don't think that a town matters if you know who you are." On marriage, she says, "One day, yeah - not tomorrow, not today. We are committed to our family. I'm 26. I've definitely had a very eventful year. So right now, it's about me enjoying my time with my daughter." What will she try to steer Harlow away from as she gets older? "To be honest," Nicole replies, "it would completely break my heart if she got a tattoo." She laughs out loud, more than aware of the irony ... Nicole appeared on the cover of People magazine with Harlow a couple weeks after Harlow's birth. "The day before it came out, I was nervous," she says, "because there was going to be a picture of my daughter everywhere." Then she evinces a peculiarly Hollywood logic. "But if I didn't put a picture out, it would have been 10 times worse. I wanted to stop people trying to get pictures of her. I was just being a protective mom." As Lionel characterizes the public's interest in Nicole, "It's because she is real. She is always brutally honest. What she says is what she means. Everywhere I go, they love Nicole. She would be a hit anywhere. I love her so much, and that's not speaking as her father, that's speaking as a fan." So Nicole is growing her fan base. She is writing a follow-up to her novel, The Truth About Diamonds, and taking meetings about turning the original book into a Gossip Girl-type series. As for Chicago, not right now."Doing musical theater really does take up your entire life," she notes. "But I'm really excited to get out there and show people that I'm capable of doing something other than The Simple Life." ... "You know, I went through a stage of thinking that once you had a baby, you moved to Brentwood, had a white picket fence, and it changed your entire life," Nicole says. "But I love where I am right now. Every single thing is for Harlow. Joel took me out last week, and he was like, 'Why don't we go out and have a shopping day?' But I ended up only going to kid stores." She laughs wryly. "I didn't get to buy shoes or anything." Finishing her watermelon and preparing to tend to Harlow, who is fussing upstairs, Nicole seems calm, as if she had the keys to the universe. "I don't necessarily think I'm more conservative," she says, "but everyone around me has told me I am." Can she guess at who among her friends will next enter mommyhood - Paris, perhaps? "Ha, nooo" is her reply. "But I don't think anyone would have bet on me."

Not true, I bet on her ... I knew that she would be an amazing mother and am happy to see that the bet paid off. The whole Harper's coverpiece is a really interesting read. You can still tell that Nicole Richie is still Nicole Richie -- motherhood hasn't changed her, it has enhanced her and allowed to be the woman that she's always had inside her. The crazy partygirl hanging off Paris Hilton's arm never felt like the real Nicole to me. The woman who carries her beautiful daughter Harlow in her arms while she is on the arm of Joel is the woman she was always meant to be ... that was my bet all along. [Source]
