Just Another Day
It is really great to see Jamie Lynn Spears back on the scene. She really goes thru bouts of being out in public and then hiding out for months at a time ... I'm hoping her recent appearance at the Monster House premiere is a signal that she's going to be showing up at events more often again. Yay! I finally have my digital cable, DVR and a brand new TV all set up and ready to go ... I am all set up to watch, record and rant about my favorite TV shows again! So ... okay ... did y'all watch Project Runway last night? I have to admit, I love this show more and more every time I see it, even tho this crop of designers has yet to win my heart. There are designers that I like (Laura, Alison and Robert) but I'm not in "love" with them like I was last season with Daniel V. and Nick. So far I can't stand Keith and Vincent so I know I can count on them for some good TV. Alrighty ... let's get to it:
I really loved Kayne and Robert's dress ... if Kayne did not win this pageant dress challenge then there was no way he was gonna be able to show his face in public again. They really pulled off the best design and deserved to win. Big up to Kayne for reppin' Norman, OK -- home of my alma mater the University of Oklahoma! I really liked Laura and Michael's dress even if their model looked like she could bench press 800 lbs. Yikes! She is a horrrrible model. I felt really bad for Malan for getting cut but I wasn't very surprised. The poor guy is going thru all of this stuff just to please his mother ... and then he gets booted from the show's second episode. Even tho he was a bit creepy (okay, he was waaaaay creepy) and even tho I kinda hated his cackling laugh I did feel really bad for him. His design was fug so I guess he had to go. Thus far, Angela has proved to be a complete waste of space ... she doesn't sketch and doesn't design ... what the hell does she do? She won't last long. Um ... has Vera Wang always looked that scary? I don't remember her ever looking quite so frightening before ... but she sure scared the hell out of me last night. Nina Garcia was a joy -- I absolutely lurve her! I haven't decided if I like Jeffrey or not ... he's kind of a jerk but I really like his Detroit tattoo on his neck. I also like how he's already nekkid by the second episode. I'm gonna hafta keep my eye on him. [Source]
Jessica Simpson played co-host on MTV's TRL yesterday so that she could debut her new video A Public Affair. There was much speculation over whether or not TRL VJ Vanessa Minnillo (currently dating Jess' ex-hubby Nick Lachey) would be on the show with Jessica ... but, of course, she was not ... here are a few pics of Jess from the show:
Blah ... without Vanessa on the show there really weren't any sparks at all. I feel bad for LaLa -- they only dig her out and put her on TRL for instances like this (or when the regular VJs are sick or on vacay). She must feel so misused. So yeah, the whole reason that Jessica was on the show was to debut her new video ... which I felt was really not as good as it could have been. With a big movie director like Brett Ratner you kinda expect ... more. In his interview, Justin confesses that he was "infatuated" with Britney Spears from the first moment he saw her ... he still has very nice to things to say about her even tho he's totally over her.
